Who

I am a writer of YA speculative fiction rep’d by Jim McCarthy of Dystel and Goderich. I am also a Literary Agent in my own right at KT Literary. MY MSWL can be found here. This blog is mainly for personal writing and not related to agenting, but feel free to browse to get a sense of my tastes.

I love Joss Whedon (that man can do no wrong, even when he does), Doctor Who, Coffee (capitalized because she has a special place in my life), whiskey, werewolves, and my cat, who is a little challenged.

I love reading, especially stories that are a little strange, a little dark, a little daring. I love interesting writing styles in genres you wouldn’t expect – lyrical fantasies (ala Marie Rutkoski or Guy Gavriel Kay), tightly written speculative thrillers (ala Chuck Wendig), and atmospheric stories with interesting settings or story problems (ala Adam Silvera).  I like historical non-fiction about events and people that are not in your history books, and anything that opens my eyes.

This blog is a mish-mash of flash fiction, posts about writing, book reviews, and some random rants about topics I am passionate about (though these rants are rare). It’s been a while since I’ve posted, and I may never post again – but just in case…

  5. I used to think a Screen Writer was the person who wrote the credits that appeared on the screen.
I’m not much smarter now, but still wish you luck in all you do.
