Neato Things That Inspire Me

I’m bored at work and decided to make a list of things that inspire me. The hope is that, remembering what inspires me, I’ll be, well, inspired. Keep in mind that these are in no particular order.  So! Let’s begin.

1. Joss Whedon. Duh.

2. Steampunk. Not the crazies that walk around with squeaky goggles and Goonies style spring belts. Ever read The Glass Books of the Dreameaters, by Gordon Dahlquist? Yeah. That kind of steampunk.

This movie is totally steampunk

3. Natalie Portman. She’s so talented it kind of hurts.

4. Really awesome phantasmagorical tree houses. Yes, I know that’s not really how to use that word. Deal with it!

5. Music. Pure and simple, music is the most inspiring part of my life. Did you know that music hits those same happy spots in your brain as chocolate and… some other things? True story. So go listen to more music! Some of my favorites:

So there you have it! My very inspiring list of inspiring things. Happy Tuesday!

I read the first one and thought, “Yes.” And the second, and thought, “Yes!” And the third, and thought, “YES!” And. So it went. I LOVE all these things. I have a weird fascination with trees (in fact, I just posted a photo last week of one that I took…) And music? It’s my freaking religion. Good stuff here.

#2, #3, and #5 are what get me going. Especially #5.
