In Which I Am Almost Ready

I have almost finished outlining my new book, the idea for which came upon me suddenly and urgently. I was surprised that I was getting brand new ideas so quickly after finishing my NaNo novel, which I’ve been editing for the last few months. The minute I sent off the first draft for reading by one of my editors, this new story began to reveal itself to me.

I told you a bit about my main character, Violet, and her god daughter (now niece) Abigail, and who she was. Since then, Charlie Fisher introduced himself, and her sister Iris.

And then Victor appeared. And Victor is quite possibly the most terrifying character my brain has ever produced. After outlining, I went to bed feeling quite uncomfortable, even afraid. Victor scares me. He scares me a lot.

So it is nearly time to start writing. I’m almost done with my outline, my story is falling into place, and my characters are becoming clearer every day. There are so many things I don’t know about them, but I know they’ll become clear in the writing. That’s how this one has to be written, I can feel it.

I’m so excited!
